‘Just a feeling’: Neville makes bold United vs Arsenal prediction that’d have significant implications on title race

Gary Neville has shared his prediction for Manchester United’s high-stakes clash with Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Red Devils head into the first of their final three Premier League fixtures this weekend before they host Newcastle United next Wednesday and travel to take on Brighton and Hove Albion on the final day.

On course to record a lowest-ever league finish of the PL era, Erik ten Hag will have made it clear to his men that this contest could see the side cling to some dignity with a win following Monday’s 4-0 humiliation at the hands of Crystal Palace.

Currently, Arsenal sit atop the table, but winning their first league title in 20 years is out of their hands; if Manchester City claim the maximum points available from their final three matches, they will be crowned champions for a record four times in a row.

It’s therefore a sticky one for the United faithful, who want to try and finish the campaign on a high with victories but would then have to witness their fierce rivals celebrate making history a year after becoming the only other English side to have completed the treble.

Neville anticipates an upset for Arsenal

Nevertheless, Neville believes that the spoils will be shared between the despondent Reds and the high-flying Gunners.

“This season, I think City beat United at Old Trafford, but Liverpool, Newcastle, Tottenham [Hotspur], Chelsea, [Aston] Villa have all not won there. I’m just saying it’s almost as if this game has been dismissed because United are that bad, which we all get, but it can be a graveyard Old Trafford,” he began on the latest instalment of Stick to Football.

“I still think Arsenal should win. But I’m not sure Arsenal are going to win. Do you know what I’m going to do? Arsenal should win, but there’s a madness around Old Trafford and this game.

“Usually, in a title race, it doesn’t ordinarily work out as you think and I think if City win on Saturday and Arsenal draw then they could win the league, and it won’t get to the last day, so I’m going to go 2-2. It’s just a feeling.”
